Zoning 101
Friday, April 26, 2024 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Whether developing, buying, or selling commercial real estate, a basic understanding of zoning is a vital skill. Knowing how to read a zoning ordinance can unlock the development potential of an underused property and avoid unplanned for zoning issues which can quickly sink a project or deal.
Join NAIOP and professionals from Nutter for a 3-hour seminar intended to review the basics of zoning in Massachusetts, including due diligence traps, the municipal permitting process in Massachusetts and Boston, and what happens when your project approval is appealed. This course will help students to gain an understanding of how to review and apply a zoning ordinance or bylaw; how to be effective in presenting before zoning boards; and how to prepare your project for a smooth review process.
