Professional Education Course - Real Estate Development Fundamentals

Description

This two-day course is focused on planning and implementing real estate development projects and what it means to be a real estate developer. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the development process, including:
- Design and construction fundamentals; how to mass a building on a site based on zoning and dimensional restrictions
- Strategies for engaging with the public sector and surrounding community to secure approvals – and navigating necessary tradeoffs in that process
- Key legal considerations in real estate development
- The role of development as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization and local economic growth
- Project financing structures and capital sources
- Trends shaping sustainable and resilient development
- Additional critical elements that contribute to successful project delivery
By the end of the course, participants will have an improved ability to identify and manage the diverse risks inherent in development, understand the roles and responsibilities of the full development team, and apply techniques to control land and execute a successful real estate project.
