NMU - Anatomy of a Commercial Building
Friday, June 6, 2025 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Building design and construction have become increasingly complex and can radically affect both function and value.
Join NAIOP for a detailed look at the architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection systems, and related codes that CRE professionals need to understand.
Now at a new location, hosted in-person at Allsteel (200 State Street, Boston), this course is organized into three key sections:
- The Skin and Personality: Architectural design fundamentals, including building envelope, zoning and building codes, vertical transportation, area calculations, parking, and site considerations.
- The Organs and Brain: An overview of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building control systems that keep a building running efficiently.
- The Skeleton: Insights into structural systems that support and shape commercial buildings.
Instructors:
- Dan Perruzzi, Margulies Perruzzi
- Keith Prata, Tighe & Bond
- David Odeh, WSP
NOTE: For a refund to be issued, cancellations must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, May 31st. For questions, please contact Linda Chateauneuf - chateauneuf@naiopma.org.
