The Affordable Homes Act (AHA) represents the most ambitious legislation to address housing costs in Massachusetts’ history. Signed on August 6, the AHA is the result of over a year of meetings, advisory groups, hearings and proposals. NAIOP was at the table, making recommendations and providing expert feedback on a host of priorities for the Healey-Driscoll Administration and the Legislature on behalf of the industry, securing the creation of a first-in-the-nation office-to-residential conversion tax credit; a doubling of the Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit; and critical reforms to dissuade frivolous appeals.
Join NAIOP to learn more about the AHA and other critical housing initiatives. Kicking off with an overview of NAIOP’s work this session to advance housing production for the industry, attendees will then hear from Secretary of Housing and Livable Communities Ed Augustus and Chairman of the Joint Committee on Housing James Arciero as they discuss the transformative investments and policies in the AHA and overview the next steps in addressing our housing crisis.
